Picnic Fayre was opened by John Pryor in 1984 with the purpose of promoting as much locally produced food and drink as possible. The aim was also to provide an excellent personal service and to encourage tasting in the shop. The delicatessen is unique as it is set in an historic Old Forge and has lots of atmosphere and perfect for display. As it has been established for 34 years it now has 3 generations visiting and it is therefore very satisfying to see families returning year after year.
It is located in the beautiful coastal village of Cley Next The Sea, North Norfolk. Not only is the shop geared for tourists but it has a great local following including a delivery service for the elderly should they require it. The deli provides a wonderful selection of cheeses, homemade cakes on the premises, pastries, pies, speciality breads, groceries including own recipe spice pastes, fresh fruit and vegetables, wines and lots more. Picnics of any variety can be made to personal order, takeaway coffee and ice cream served through our hatch. Certain useful sundry supplies are also available on request. This all adds up to a great shopping experience and one not to be forgotten.
The shop is open 7 days a week throughout the year, and only closes for 2 days at Christmas.
Picnic Fayre has now opened a new deli in Holt called Picnic Fayre Taste.
